Khokana


Khokana which is also known as Jitapur was said to have been formed in 333 Nepal sambat. It is located at south if Kathmandu downs a rutty road dotted with chaitas. The satellite view of Khokana is like swastik which is a sign of good luck in Hinduism. Khokana is the village of different powerful gods and goddesses according to Hindu myth. There is a temple situated at center of Khokana which is known as Rudrayani Mandir. There are 12 gods and goddesses worshiped in this temple.

Khokana is the first place facilitated by the electricity all over the Nepal. In the ancient period Khokana use to manage and conduct the tax process of Nepal. It is also believed that the first share business was established in Khokana as samuha which means group even there if no written proof.

In the present situation Khokana is famous for the production of a different type of mustard oil all over Nepal which is considered as best for one’s health especially for pregnant women.
